Our founder Craig was born in South Africa and from a young age was immersed in the restaurant industry, helping his father run his steakhouse in Johannesburg.

It was in fact Craig’s father Aubrey that developed the basting that has become a cult favourite. In 1992 Craig emigrated to Australia with the vision of bringing the delicious flavours of his youth to the Australian market. With a unique combination of South African, Portuguese and Australian cooking styles, Hurricanes was born. After having 2 children, Craig’s wife Laura joined the business and the rest as they say is History.

In 2015 the 1^st International Hurricane’s restaurant was opened in Jakarta Indonesia followed by Dubai. Dubai is now home to 2 Hurricane’s restaurants with the opening of Hurricane’s in the pavilion in 2019 and the second location in 2021. We are looking forward to introducing our unique brand to new countries and territories in 2023.

In the heart of Sydney’s CBD just a stone’s throw from the light rail, train station and ferry station is Hurricane’s Grill Circular Quay. Bringing over 25 years’ experience to tourists, office workers and families alike, our delicious flame grilled ribs, steaks and burgers continue to please. Our basting sauce, a tightly held family secret is the same sauce that has been used since our inception. Not a meat lover? we also cater for pescatarians and vegetarians.

Hurricane’s Grill Brighton-le-Sands is a relaxed modern steakhouse, overlooking the stunning views of Botany Bay. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset, Hurricanes Grill will showcase fantastic food and drinks, leaving our guests wanting more. Famous for our delicious ribs and steaks in original basting, a meal here won’t disappoint. Add a delicious mocktail, cocktail or one of our carefully selected wines and your lunch or dinner will be complete.

Hurricane’s Grill and Rotisserie  is the newest addition to the Hurricane’s family. Located in Pyrmont, just a stone’s throw from the iconic Darling Harbour and Star city casino. This popular venue is relaxed and fun! Enjoy the famous ribs and steaks that Hurricane’s is famous for as well as our newest Rotisserie offerings, like chicken, lamb and pork slow cooked to perfection.
